We’ve been working hard to support the Basingstoke Canal Society.
Some volunteers from the Telecom Division mobile team have been out clearing the waterways of overhanging branches and litter that’s been affecting plants and animals that call the canal home.
Basingstoke Canal Society is best known for campaigning for the sustainable future of our canal ways, which is habitat for many different species of animals, bird and insects. It’s also popular with the local community and visitors to the area.
Supporting the Canal Society has been an opportunity to give back to the community, get outdoors and so something rewarding and physically challenging. It’s also helped us to develop as a team.
Everyone who volunteered agreed they have a much greater understanding and awareness of the effort that goes into maintaining and sustaining the waterways.
Volunteering is just one way people across M Group Services contribute towards our shared environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments.
